My own garden is entirely my creation both in labour and design. It has gradually evolved over the last 12 years and though I feel I have developed it as far as the space and my energy allows I continue to try to make improvements to the planting each season. In retrospect I wish I had had a specific design to work towards from the very beginning as I feel I would have saved myself quite a lot of money and effort by approaching the creation of the garden in that way. I would always advise someone to have an overall plan for the whole of their garden even though it may take several years for them to achieve.
